i broke out with oral herpes about 2 months ago for some unknown reason.. since then, even with strong medication such as acyclovir and valtrex [taken precisely as directed], i acquire no satisfying results. i have even been taking the vitamin l-lysine for quite some time. although i haven’t gotten actual sores on my lips since the first outbreak, i get small painful sores on my tongue, and my bottom lip is NEVER NOT all cracked and chapped, despite the fact that i use so much chapstick and herpecin L. i constantly have fever blisters on the inside of my bottom lip as well. i am horrified at this condition. i’m 16 and knowing that i have to live with this kills me. i just want a treatment that will make my lips normal for atleast a short period of time, long enough to look presentable so i could find a boyfriend someday. i know it sounds ridiculous, but these are the types of things you think about when you are living with a chronic condition that affects you socially. please help…

So I woke the other night with dry lips and they hurt really bad, so around my lips there’s a lot of tiny circles came out and they hurt and itch a lot this happened like every winter urghh :-/ i hate it .. so can anyone tell me how to avoid this and get rid of it fast. Thanks in advance

Cold Sores/Fever Blisters got bigger after campho phenique!?

I just got 2 blisters yesterday on my upper lip and put campho phenique on it then when I woke up today they are bigger and I grew one on the bottom lip!!
Now I have have like 3-4 cold sores on my mouth (mostly upper lip and some on the bottom)…..

Does campho phenique work?
Am I using it wrong?
Do you know any other treatments?

I have been getting cold sores/fever blisters ever since I was young..and they would come really bad like this time…..

How long does it take to go away?
Why am I getting cold sores often?

Please help!

Christmas is in a few days and I’m desperate to get over this cold before then. It’s my favorite time of the year and I don’t wanna miss the fun because of a sore throat. My wife just got over the flu and strep throat. During her treatment she got fever blisters on her bottom lip since she ran a high fever for the duration of her flu. Once the fever blisters disappear is it ok to have oral sex without me getting genital herpes? Or how long after her fever blisters are gone can we continue oral sex?
