I would suggest going to the dentist and having it looked at. A infection in the mouth can lead to serious problem. It may very well be treated with simple antibiotics or may have to be lanced. Dissolve sea salt in luke warm water and rinse twice daily. Also you can try corsodyl (Chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash), but this may stain your teeth (your dentist can remove the staining). I recently had one of those too, I had never had them on my gum before. It looked worse than the ones you get on your tongue or inside of your cheek.
