Remedies and treatments to relieve your discomfort.
I’ve had a really bad cold and my nose is super dry, like there’s skin flaking off it & it’s really sore. Normally I would just moisturize it, but it’s not working. I don’t want to use anything too greasy because it will break me out but I need a quick and easy way to solve this. Any suggestions? I’ve been using Olay cream on it & it stings like crazy at first. Also… I still have a cold so it’s not going to stay moisturized all day since i’m blowing my nose a lot.
i had two cold sores on lip, and i thought that the fastest way to get rid of them was to pop them all & they all went down BUT they left this discoloration mark. The marks don’t look hideous but they’re beginning to bug me. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! I really dislike going into public like this. please help!! and thankyou SO MUCH! ;D
My lips feel extremely dry/chapped. They are also a little swollen, itch and are very painful. It started about 3 weeks ago when I was out in the sun too much. I thought at first they were just extremely chapped but I had been putting the Blistex medicated lip ointment on them for weeks and they were not getting any better. Someone suggested also putting something like Neosporin or Aquaphor on them to help hold in the moisture so I tried both of those as well. I have also tried Carmex moisturizing lip balm and Nivea moisture hydrating lip care, none of which helped. So I went to the CVS Minute Clinic near me and the P.A. told me that it was actually fever blisters on my lips and prescribed an oral prescription for the fever blisters and told me to take Ibuprophen for the swelling and told me I could continue to put the Blistex & Neosporin on them to help with the dryness and pain. I’ve been taking the medication 5 times a day for the past 3 days (it’s a 5 day prescription) and applying lip treatments to my lips like every 15-20 minutes and it has not gotten any better at all. I don’t think the diagnosis was accurate because my lips are swollen but I’ve had fever blisters in the past and they usually start as blisters then dry up to a scab and go away and my lips don’t seem to have blisters on them. I am at a complete loss. I really hate to go to the Doctor for chapped lips, but at the same time I feel as though if they were just chapped that with all the lip treatments I’ve been applying that they would be at least getting a little better by now. They get so dry and painful and itchy that it’s driving me insane!! Any suggestions as to what they can be?
my mom has had a cold sore for a couple days and i guess i drank out of something after her. so now i have one developing.
how can i get rid of it over night? because i NEED it gone for tomorrow!
also, can i cover it up with makeup or will it infect it more?
ive tried the toothpaste & salt and nail polish remover.
its also not sensitive really at all. on websites people said all these things would sting but i have felt nothing haha. thankss !
It looks somewhat like a pimple on my inner bottom lip, but it seems to be a cold sore. its been sore & hurting for a few days now, & i desperately want it gone so i can celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend. any ideas?
I am 31 yrs old & when i was 8 yrs old i first got oral herpes from the school playgrounds, just bad hygiene when we are kids, i did not get them again until i was 23 & now that i am 31 i recently got one but it healed. Basically i get one every 8-15 years very rare. I recently kissed my friend will i pass it on to him?

I was diagnosed with mono a few days ago. Today I developed a cold sore above my lip.
Could this be connected to the mono? Or is there another way cold sores occur?
What are some ways you can treat cold sores? How long would those take?
Also, is there a way to treat cold sores without a medicine? I’ve heard of Abreva, but in Walgreens a really tiny bottle is over . Is it worth the money? Or is there a more effective herbal way?

So glad I asked here in the alternative medicine section…you’re great! I’ll have to try the hydrogen peroxide/rubbing alcohol first (since I have that in my house). I look into the others (green tea oil, etc.) I’ve heard of Elderberry syrup, don’t know much about it. Could anyone tell me what these oils & syrups are or where to find them? Thanks!
Yesterday I started this getting this cold, I went to school & took medicine in the morning. But around the end of the day my nose started getting really stuffy, and I started sneezing a lot and getting a sore throat. but then going to bed it wasn’t that bad. Now today i woke up and it was really bad my voice sounds horrible, my throat kind of hurts, and my nose is super stuffy; so im staying home but guess what i have a basketball game at 6:15 today any tips ?
i use it last night because i ended up getting a fever blister.. i felt like i had a fever a few days ago. && well then yesterday morning it came out on my upper left side, i placed a cold pad on it, but it didn’t work. So i went to Walgreen’s last night and got over the counter Fast Relief Cold Sore Treatment, which indicates it’s also good for fever blisters, (Viroxyn). and it sting so much, it got swollen real fast. So i woke up this morning, and my upper left lip is super swollen, i have a fat lip!. Is this normal. It came with 2 single doses ONE DAY treatment. My real question is.. is the swelling normal? and when will this go away, & if i got the right treatment for it? Super thanks!
