I have developed not one but TWO cold sores yuck! That Abreva stuff don’t help much, I usually just use Carmex but it takes a long time to go away. And they are painful! Any natural remedies or advice would be so appreciated!
If a person has cold sores in his/her mouth and kisses another person on an area other than the mouth or genitals, a) does the area of the skin become infected, and b) is this area of the skin affected, i.e. does an irritation or other symptom appear?
I read that nail polish remover cures cold sores rather quick, so I applied it a few times, the first time for two minutes holding the q-tip on my upper lip. Then I read I had to drain it out, then apply NPR to the sore. It didn’t do much of a transformation, the sore is still there, and my lip plumped up a bit more too. How can I get rid of this cold sore soon, and my big lip? Whats the best treatment out there?

Okay ever since last summer I noticed that I break out in cold sores about two a month the last time I got one was back in July. I got my first cold sore today (I think) and was wondering if anyone had any remedies to get rid of it. I also am taking some allergy medicines and was thinking that it might be an allergic reaction to one of those and isn’t a cold sore, but hives. My girlfriend has never had a cold sore, and no one I’m around has cold sores, so I’m a little confused by it… Either way, I stopped taking the medicine, and will just treat it as if it’s a cold sore. I started to get a cold sore yesterday and it’s just two blisters on my bottom lip but I’ve had bad experiences with cold sores going insane and I want to know if anyone knows a way to get rid of a cold sore in less than 2 days (or at least make it really really small). I’m going to a banquet/reception on Saturday and I REALLY want to get rid of this thing before then.
I’m currently putting Zovirax on it, which tends to work, but if anyone knows a better way, I really appreciate it.
