i got this really big cold sore a few days ago i told my parents and they said it was okay because its winter. Then i got some advice that if i put toothpaste and salt it would go away i tried it and all seemed to do was make it go down a little. i wonder if i did it right?
A few days ago the right side of my lip started itching really bad. The next day it was red and it’s kinda turned into a scab or something. I have toothpaste on it right now because my mom said she read something somewhere that said it could get rid of it. Is there anything else that might work?
It looks somewhat like a pimple on my inner bottom lip, but it seems to be a cold sore. its been sore & hurting for a few days now, & i desperately want it gone so i can celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend. any ideas?
ive had cold sores for about 2 1/2 weeks now! it started out as 1 in the corner of my mouth and then spread to different parts of my lips. ive used everything from various medicated lip balms to abreva and although the combination of things helped a little it wont go away. the main portion of my lips is looking better but the corners are still ugly and scabby…plus its still tingling/burning/itching everywhere.
how can i get rid of this completely? my boyfriend is coming back in town in a few days and i dont want him to see me like this. plus im sick of dealing with all the strange looks from everyone. it hurts, its ugly, and i want it GONE! are there any good remedies or should i go to my doctor? please help!
Christmas is in a few days and I’m desperate to get over this cold before then. It’s my favorite time of the year and I don’t wanna miss the fun because of a sore throat. I’ve had it for like 4 days now. Any suggestions on help? I’m trying not to talk that much and it’s hard to swallow. ….suggestions please?(:
I was diagnosed with mono a few days ago. Today I developed a cold sore above my lip.
Could this be connected to the mono? Or is there another way cold sores occur?
What are some ways you can treat cold sores? How long would those take?
Also, is there a way to treat cold sores without a medicine? I’ve heard of Abreva, but in Walgreens a really tiny bottle is over . Is it worth the money? Or is there a more effective herbal way?

So glad I asked here in the alternative medicine section…you’re great! I’ll have to try the hydrogen peroxide/rubbing alcohol first (since I have that in my house). I look into the others (green tea oil, etc.) I’ve heard of Elderberry syrup, don’t know much about it. Could anyone tell me what these oils & syrups are or where to find them? Thanks!

i use it last night because i ended up getting a fever blister.. i felt like i had a fever a few days ago. && well then yesterday morning it came out on my upper left side, i placed a cold pad on it, but it didn’t work. So i went to Walgreen’s last night and got over the counter Fast Relief Cold Sore Treatment, which indicates it’s also good for fever blisters, (Viroxyn). and it sting so much, it got swollen real fast. So i woke up this morning, and my upper left lip is super swollen, i have a fat lip!. Is this normal. It came with 2 single doses ONE DAY treatment. My real question is.. is the swelling normal? and when will this go away, & if i got the right treatment for it? Super thanks!

Earlier this evening, I noticed a small circular section on the inside of my lower lip was red and tender. It still is.
It feels like a cold sore. I’ve eaten a lot of chips in the last few days, and about a week-two weeks ago, I was in this zombie movie, and the make up was so thick the guy that did the make up had to remove my make up with a household sponge (the make up was all over my face and lips). Could it be from the chips or the sponge?
And what exactly causes a cold sore? Could it be herpes? Although you have to have sex of some kind to catch herpes, don’t you? And I’m not sexually active. Help please!
