what does a cold sore look like? is it like a bleeding scab around your mouth that takes a while to heal?
…i hear people talk about it, but have no idea what it is. any ideas?

It can be, I would alternate between rubbing some Abreva on it and plain old neosporin. Keep the area clean but moist, dryness will make it crack and start to bleed more. You poor thing! I feel so bad for you. They really hurt don’t they! Take it easy and I hope this helps and that you heal and feel better soon!
A cold sore is usually a sore that is red and irritated around the corners of your mouth, or in your mouth. There are several cold sore medication, I found that campo phenique works the best. It is in a green and yellow bottle, or tube. It will numb the area immediately and make your cold sore go away. If it is a bleeding scab it might just be a scab, or infantigo. If so you want to keep it clean and not touch it as much as possible and let it heal on its own.
It looks like an awful red patch(es) commonly around your mouth. It is very pain and u cannot stretch open you mouth to the maximum. I have it after going to china during autumn, hope that helps.
